Softball Recap: DeRidder Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for DeRidder's offense. They lost 15-0 to the Eunice Bobcats on Thursday. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

DeRidder saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madilynn Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

DeRidder's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Eunice, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. DeRidder will face off against rival Leesville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eunice is set to take on their familiar foe LaGrange at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Eunice's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while LaGrange has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
