Basketball Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lugoff-Elgin entered their tilt with River Bluff on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over the River Bluff Gators. While the Demons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lugoff-Elgin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savon Jenkins out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marcus Clark, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Lugoff-Elgin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Defeat or not, River Bluff got some senior leadership from Dax Avery and Mason Young. Avery put up seven points and five rebounds, while Young had seven points and six rebounds.

Lugoff-Elgin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for River Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Lugoff-Elgin and Camden will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for River Bluff, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lakewood at 8:30 p.m. on December 26th.
