Softball Recap: Pinellas Park Takes a Loss

Pinellas Park lost against Hollins back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pinellas Park Patriots lost 13-2 to the Hollins Royals. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pinellas Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danielle Overman, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Khloe Birk also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Pinellas Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pinellas Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hollins, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinellas Park will challenge Countryside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pinellas Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Hollins, they will take on Dunedin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
