Football Recap: Todd County Takes a Loss

Todd County is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Winnebago. The Falcons had to suffer through a 38-8 loss at the hands of the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Todd County still got an impressive performance from Ciante Black Spotted Horse, who rushed for 54 yards and one TD.

Raiden Decora was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry for Winnebago. Decora was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Whitebear, who threw for eight yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Todd County fell to 4-1. As for Winnebago, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Todd County will venture away from home to challenge Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Todd County will be up against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa's rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Winnebago, they will be playing at home against Little Wound at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
