Basketball Game Preview: East vs. Cardinal Mooney Cardinals

East hasn't had much luck against Cardinal Mooney recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. East will take on the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. East has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

East is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Chaney on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. East took a blow against Chaney, falling 83-53. While losing is never fun, East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 552nd, while Chaney is ranked 140th).

Valley Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Cardinal Mooney proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Eagles 52-34. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Cardinal Mooney's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

East was able to grind out a solid win over Cardinal Mooney when the teams last played back in January, winning 49-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for East since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
