Baseball Recap: Nipomo Comes Up Short

Nipomo lost against Templeton back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Titans came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered against the Eagles since April 20, 2018.

Eli Silveira and Griffin Groshart did some serious damage despite the final result: Silveira went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Groshart went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That triple marked the first that Silveira hit this season.

Nipomo now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Templeton, they moved to 9-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Nipomo will face off against Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for the Titans and four for the Saints. As for Templeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
