Basketball Game Preview: Johnson City Eagles vs. Mason Punchers

Johnson City and Mason are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Johnson City Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Mason Punchers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Johnson City is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Harper, falling 66-45.

Meanwhile, Mason was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Goldthwaite 91-44. While losing is never fun, the Punchers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1488th, while the Eagles are ranked 637th).

Mason's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Johnson City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Johnson City came up short against Mason in their previous matchup on January 7th, falling 52-42. Can Johnson City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
