Volleyball Recap: Calvert Triumphs

Calvert is still undefeated this season after their contest against Ross on Monday, but Ross came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Senecas came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Little Giants. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Senecas have posted since October 14, 2024.

Calvert took Ross into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 19-25, 18-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Among those leading the charge was Kate Coleman, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in November of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Calvert was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 20 consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Ross lost, don't look at Brook Baacke. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs. Lillian Weakley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Calvert's record is now 22-0. As for Ross, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5.

Calvert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ross, they will square off against Start at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
