Recap: Galesburg Christian Lions vs. Unity Christian Knights
The Galesburg Christian Lions can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They put the hurt on Unity Christian with a sharp 53-31 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-8.
Galesburg Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaela Hall, who scored 22 points. Grace Potter was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Despite the defeat, Unity Christian saw an underclassman step up: Kaylie Hays dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Van Kampen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Galesburg Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Unity Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galesburg Christian will challenge Tri-State Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Unity Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Faith Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
