The Kenston Forest Kavaliers will head out to take on the Amelia Academy Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kenston Forest is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
Kenston Forest is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Brunswick Academy 24-2 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Graham Sledd made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Ransom Clarke was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Connor Parker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Kenston Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brunswick Academy only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Amelia Academy got the win against Fuqua on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Like Kenston Forest, Amelia Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Carson Dietz. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dietz has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Amelia Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Aiden Long was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Amelia Academy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Creswell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Kenston Forest's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Amelia Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Kenston Forest took their victory against Amelia Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
