Volleyball Recap: Aldine Comes Up Short

Aldine lost against MacArthur back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Generals 25-17 in the first set.

Aldine started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-16.

MacArthur was led to victory by Vivian Reyes and Maricela Hernandez. Reyes had 19 digs and three assists, while Hernandez had 35 assists and 16 digs. Those 35 assists gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valeria Andres, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Aldine's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-16. As for MacArthur, their record is now 10-21.

Aldine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Westfield on the 19th. As for MacArthur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Spring on the 19th.
