Volleyball Game Preview: Grove City Eagles vs. Sharpsville Blue Devils

The Grove City Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Grove City didn't have quite enough to beat Greenville and fell 3-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Grove City started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Sharpsville didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin on Thursday and fell 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sharpsville sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 26-24, 18-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-6.

Sharpsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Grove City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-1.

Grove City suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sharpsville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
