Arp is 2-8 against West Rusk since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will host the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Rusk will be up against a hot Arp squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Tigers breezed past New Diana to the tune of 54-9 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Zane Bourque was his usual excellent self, rushing for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 455 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Another reason for the win was Arp's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Casen Burgins, Chrisden Ellis, and Chris Jenkins, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Rusk, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Buffalo with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-31. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
West Rusk didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kameron Brown. Another thorn in Buffalo's side was Chris Sanchez, who made 16 total tackles.
Arp's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for West Rusk, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Arp beat West Rusk 22-13 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
