Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Orange on Thursday, Mayfield came back down to earth. The Wildcats lost 13-1 to the Solon Comets on Monday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Comets from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Mayfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Solon, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.

Coming up, Mayfield will challenge Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Solon, they will take on Laurel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
