Softball Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Sturgis Brown hit Watertown with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Arrows lost 12-2 to the Scoopers. The Arrows were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scoopers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Watertown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kynslee Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Kodi Lund also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Watertown has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Sturgis Brown, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Watertown is set to face off against their familiar foe Rapid City Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sturgis Brown will square off against rival Mitchell at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
