Basketball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pioneer can now relate to. They fell to the Tri-County Cavaliers 49-45. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pioneer still got an impressive performance from Aidan Quillen, who went 9-for-13 on his way to 23 points. What's more, Quillen posted four boards, the most he's had since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Miller, who earned ten points and six rebounds.

Tri-County was led to victory by Grayson Schneider and Tyler Burns. Schneider shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards, while Burns put up nine points and six rebounds. Noah Pratt was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Tri-County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri-County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-51 win against West Central on the 8th.
