Football Recap: Happy Valley Extends Winning Streak to Eight

While Happy Valley put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Cumberland Gap. The Warriors claimed a resounding 65-0 win over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.

Happy Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Keller and Ethan Honeycutt. Honeycutt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory keeps Happy Valley at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.9 points on average this season. As for Cumberland Gap, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Happy Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 52-0 victory against West Greene on the 17th. As for Cumberland Gap, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Claiborne at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Panthers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
