Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Roncalli

Britton-Hecla typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Roncalli proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Braves 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Roncalli won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Britton-Hecla's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Teveldal, who had 22 digs and two assists, and Brynlee Schmieg, who had 13 digs and one assist. Teveldal is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

The win (which was Roncalli's third in a row) raised their record to 11-6. As for Britton-Hecla, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-9.

Coming up, Roncalli will welcome Mobridge-Pollock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Britton-Hecla, they will head out on the road to take on Groton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
