Recap: Pasco Pirates vs. Sunlake Seahawks
The Pasco Pirates suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Sunlake, falling 73-31. While losing is never fun, Pasco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while Sunlake is ranked 268th).
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sidney Allen, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Miller, who scored seven points.
Pasco struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pasco has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Sunlake, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Pasco will challenge River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully River Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Saturday. As for Sunlake, they will be playing at home against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
