Soccer Game Preview: Midlothian vs. Chaparral

The Midlothian Panthers will square off against the Chaparral Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Midlothian didn't have quite enough to beat Grapevine and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Midlothian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Grapevine are ranked 14th).

Dylan Cruthers wasn't going to let Grapevine walk away unscathed as he scored both of Midlothian's goals, bringing his season total up to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Bowie.

Midlothian's loss dropped their record down to 12-7-4. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-5.
