The Elgin Comets are taking a road trip to challenge the Riverdale Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elgin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Elgin earned a 13-10 victory over Upper Scioto Valley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Madison Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-6 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madisyn Hill was excellent, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Melody Hicks also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Riverdale posted their closest win since April 4, 2025 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cory-Rawson 11-10. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Fighting Hornets: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Laylah Howard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Vent, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Elgin's record is now 4-5. As for Riverdale, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
