Basketball Recap: Puget Sound Adventist Takes a Loss

Puget Sound Adventist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Portland Adventist Academy Cougars and fell 72-28. The Sharks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Leading Portland Adventist Academy to victory were Oliver Thompson and Dane Petersen. Thompson almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Petersen went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Thompson a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Kaw Htoo, who posted eight points and five assists.

Puget Sound Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they moved to 11-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Puget Sound Adventist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-34 defeat against Mesa Grande Academy on the 24th. Portland Adventist Academy has also already played their next game, a 64-54 victory against Columbia Adventist Academy on the 24th.
