Basketball Recap: Chaputnguak Comes Up Short

Chaputnguak lost against Nelson Island last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chaputnguak Shaman had to suffer through a 98-71 loss at the hands of the Nelson Island Islanders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (61), the Shaman still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Chaputnguak lost, don't look at Felagai Laumea. Despite the final result, he posted 37 points. That's the most points Laumea has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Placid John, who scored 11 points.

Chaputnguak now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Nelson Island, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Chaputnguak has already played their next game, a 53-35 victory against Ayaprun on the 21st. As for Nelson Island, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-55 win against Chaputnguak on the 21st.
