Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

GVCS Broadfording entered their tilt with Grace Academy on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They strolled past the Grace Academy Knights with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-46 back in December of 2024.

Leading GVCS Broadfording to victory were Brandon Monroe and Fernando Garcia. Monroe dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Garcia went 9 for 22 en route to 23 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Garcia's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nashon Mann was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

GVCS Broadfording was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Academy only racked up seven assists.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Downie, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Aikens, who scored eight points and nine boards.

GVCS Broadfording's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Grace Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

GVCS Broadfording didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 90-27 victory against Carroll Christian on the 28th. As for Grace Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-32 loss against Heritage Academy on the 28th.
