Soccer Game Preview: Vista Murrieta vs. Chaparral

Vista Murrieta and Chaparral are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Vista Murrieta Broncos will head out to take on the Chaparral Pumas at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Vista Murrieta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Vista Murrieta is headed into the game having not lost since December 26 and will look to keep things rolling. They blew past Murrieta Mesa 7-1 on Friday. With the Broncos ahead 3-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

They hit Murrieta Mesa with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Markis Cavanaugh (2), Callum Carvetta (2), Sage Illescu (2), and Caeden Rush.

Meanwhile, Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Murrieta Valley.

Vista Murrieta pushed their record up to 11-3-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Vista Murrieta beat Chaparral 3-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Vista Murrieta repeat their success, or does Chaparral have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
