With a playoff win on the line, Union Academy rose to the challenge on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cherryville Ironmen an 11-0 shutout. Considering Union Academy have won 15 contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Cherryville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hadassa Garcia (4), Brihanna Ashcraft (3), Caroline Souza (3), and Sara Baker.

The win was the 13th in a row for Union Academy, bringing their record up to 17-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 109 goals over those 13 matchups. As for Cherryville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
