Soccer Game Preview: Girard vs. McKinley

Girard is 0-9-1 against McKinley since August of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Indians will look to defend their home pitch against the Red Dragons at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Girard comes in on three and McKinley on seven.

Girard took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Southeast, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Pirates 3-2 on Thursday.

Girard hit Southeast with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Quinn Wilster, Sylvie Hansen, and Addison Williams.

Meanwhile, McKinley kept a clean sheet against Perry on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 2-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering McKinley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Perry are ranked 372nd).

McKinley's win bumped their record up to 14-0-1. As for Girard, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-4.
