Basketball Recap: Sam Rayburn Snags 15th Win in Last 17 Games

Sam Rayburn won the last time they faced Wolfe City and things went their way on Friday too. The Sam Rayburn Rebels put the hurt on the Wolfe City Wolves with a sharp 52-29 win. The Rebels pushed the score to 45-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the defeat, Wolfe City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Adams dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Adams a new career-high in blocks (five).

Sam Rayburn is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Wolfe City, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-20.

Sam Rayburn will welcome Whitewright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewright will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sam Rayburn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wolfe City, they will head out on the road to square off against Celeste at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe City is facing Celeste at the right time seeing as Celeste is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
