Basketball Game Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. Community School of Davidson Spartans + How To Watch

The Surry Central Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Community School of Davidson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Surry Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Surry Central humbled Elkin with a 59-26 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Golden Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Surry Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reese Whitaker out in front who shot 45% from the field on her way to 12 points and three steals. The last time Whitaker's field goal percentage was this high was back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Dalton, who posted seven points and five steals.

Surry Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-34, which was the final score in Community School of Davidson's tilt against West Rowan last Friday.

Surry Central will need to focus on slowing down Ella Tomko, one of several Community School of Davidson players who made an impact when they last played. She scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckinley Ferrucci, who earned eight points.

Surry Central's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Community School of Davidson, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
