Basketball Recap: Covenant Comes Up Short

Covenant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covenant Christian Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-36 on January 7th.

Kaitlyn Knaub continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Covenant Christian, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Knaub has scored at least a third of Covenant Christian's points. Brittan Steele was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Covenant Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.

Covenant has already played their next matchup (against Prince of Peace), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Covenant Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-32 win against Coram Deo Academy on the 28th.
