Softball Recap: Hereford Has No Trouble Against Clovis

Hereford never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clovis Wildcats with a sharp 18-0 victory. The contest marked the Whitefaces' most dominant win of the season.

Evelyn Brethour made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Brethour was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other batting news, Alizae Casarez was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Malarie Enriquez, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hereford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clovis only posted a batting average of .000.

The victory made it two in a row for Hereford and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Hereford will host Dumas at 4:00 p.m. on March 4th. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
