Baseball Recap: Tri-Valley Gets the Win

Tri-Valley took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mahomet-Seymour, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 13-5 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Tri-Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Filarski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. Ethan Moore was another, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Tri-Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.

Tri-Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will venture away from home to take on Mt. Zion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
