Softball Recap: River Ridge/Scales Mound Beats Warren/Stockton for Their Third Straight Win

River Ridge/Scales Mound entered their tilt with Warren/Stockton on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Warhawks by a score of 12-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 last Tuesday.

Laiken Haas was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sarah Winter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylen Bond, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

River Ridge/Scales Mound kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.

The victory got River Ridge/Scales Mound back to even at 6-6. As for Warren/Stockton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, River Ridge/Scales Mound will square off against Orangeville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Warren/Stockton, they will take on West Carroll on Saturday.
