Basketball Recap: Niwot Takes a Loss

Niwot lost to Broomfield back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars took a blow against the Eagles, falling 70-35. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Eagles are ranked 55th).

Niwot has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Broomfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Niwot is set to face off against their familiar foe Holy Family at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Broomfield will square off against rival Monarch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
