Shenango took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Mohawk Area, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Warriors 6-5. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Trey Ross made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Ross was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ross wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Christian Anterock, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Shenango and bumps their season record up to 10-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Mohawk Area, their record is now 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shenango will take on Laurel at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Mohawk Area, they will square off against Ellwood City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverine will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
