Volleyball Recap: Menlo School Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Allison Yu and Ava Wang + How To Watch

Menlo School extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-12. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Notre Dame Tigers. Knights fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Tigers since Thursday.

Ava Wang and Allison Yu certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Wang had 29 digs and four assists, while Yu had six digs and two aces. Alex Fair also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

As for Notre Dame, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8. The game was the first time they have beaten Menlo School on their court since October 25, 2022.

Piper Ventura had an outrageously good game as she had 21 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

Menlo School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Monta Vista on the 26th. As for Notre Dame, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Presentation on the 30th.
