Basketball Game Preview: Roane County Raiders vs. Hoover Huskies

Having just played yesterday, the Roane County Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Hoover Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roane County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Roane County is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Ravenswood on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Roane County came up short against Ravenswood, falling 68-47. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Red Devils are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Hoover's and Wayne's match on Monday was close at halftime, but Hoover turned on the heat in the second half with 43 points. Hoover was the clear victors by a 76-54 margin over Wayne.

Roane County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Roane County was dealt a bruising 71-44 loss at the hands of Hoover in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Roane County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
