Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Livingston's Fourth in Last Five Outings

If Liberty wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Livingston, they should've done a better job of containing Ziekus Garner. The Livingston Lions managed a 47-42 victory over the Liberty Panthers on Monday thanks in part to Garner, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played.

Cory Dirden was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and four blocks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2 blocks per game.

Livingston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Liberty, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Livingston will host Hargrave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hargrave will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Livingston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Hardin-Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hardin-Jefferson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
