Petal put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand the Oak Grove Warriors a 2-0 shutout. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Warriors are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Petal's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Oak Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.
