Baseball Recap: South Sioux City Comes Up Short

South Sioux City lost against Fort Calhoun back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-1 to the Pioneers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Sioux City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Fort Calhoun, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

Coming up, South Sioux City will venture away from home to challenge Skutt Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the SkyHawks have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Fort Calhoun, they will challenge Thurston-Cuming County on Tuesday.
