After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary's Prep, Detroit Country Day was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Walled Lake Northern Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-16, 25-10.

Elise Hiemstra paced Detroit Country Day's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hiemstra got some help from Payton Woodruff and her 29 assists. Woodruff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Detroit Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Walled Lake Northern, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-12-1.

Detroit Country Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bloomfield Hills on the 21st. As for Walled Lake Northern, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Hartland on the 23rd.
