Basketball Recap: North Lincoln's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

North Lincoln had won eight straight games and Kellen Karr did his part to make it nine on Tuesday. The North Lincoln Knights put the hurt on the St. Stephens Indians with a sharp 86-65 win thanks in part to Karr, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 18 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 21 times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Luke Grooms, who posted four points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, St. Stephens still got an impressive performance from Noah Vanbeurden, who went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 40 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jachavis Sherrill, who went 7 for 16 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds.

North Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.1 points per game. As for St. Stephens, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Lincoln will square off against Foard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln is facing Foard at the right time seeing as Foard is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for St. Stephens, they will face off against East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Stephens is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season.
