Recap: Port Neches-Groves Indians vs. Huntsville Hornets
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Port Neches-Groves Indians walked away with it. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 24-14 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Port Neches-Groves as they're now sitting on 13 straight.
Port Neches-Groves' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Bailey, who threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Port Neches-Groves also got a significant boost from Isaiah Nguyen, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
Port Neches-Groves' win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Huntsville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Port Neches-Groves will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Liberty Hill. Liberty Hill is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Huntsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
