Recap: Aspen Skiers vs. Moffat County Bulldogs
The Aspen Skiers lost against the Moffat County Bulldogs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aspen took a serious blow against Moffat County, falling 64-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Aspen in their matchups with Moffat County: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Skiers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Benson, who threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Hurd, who picked up 97 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Moffat County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Champ Hafey, who rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns, and also threw for 20 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Zachary Hedman was another key contributor, rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Aspen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Moffat County, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Aspen will head out on the road to face off against Basalt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Moffat County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. Grand Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 26th.
