Braintree took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Milton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wamps had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wamps have posted since September 4th.

Braintree had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 15-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Braintree to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joely Wang, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Wang has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Bella Tran, who had eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Braintree was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Braintree has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Milton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Braintree has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Marshfield on the 23rd. As for Milton, they will square off against Stoughton at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
