Basketball Recap: Mt. Ararat Takes Down Ranked Gray-New Gloucester

On Friday, Mt. Ararat faced Gray-New Gloucester in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mt. Ararat Eagles came out on top against the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots by a score of 49-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-37 back in December of 2024.

Mt. Ararat is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Gray-New Gloucester, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Mt. Ararat is taking a road trip to face off against Edward Little at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Edward Little will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Mt. Ararat surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gray-New Gloucester, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Yarmouth at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
