Basketball Recap: Elmwood Takes a Loss

If Elmwood was riding high fresh off their 82-35 takedown of St. Joseph Central Catholic last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Elmwood Royals took a blow against the Arlington Red Devils on Friday, falling 48-19. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while the Red Devils are ranked 115th).

Elmwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Arlington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Miller City at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Arlington, they will take on Arcadia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
