Basketball Preview: Greencastle Tiger Cubs vs. South Putnam Eagles
Greencastle is 8-2 against the Eagles since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Greencastle Tiger Cubs will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Putnam Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Greencastle scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 91-64 victory over Brown County. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for Greencastle this season.
Greencastle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cody Evans, who scored 23 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Adams, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, South Putnam had just enough and edged the Panthers out 55-52 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Putnam.
Greencastle's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for South Putnam, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
