Baseball Game Preview: Green Valley Gators vs. Basic Wolves

For the second straight game, Green Valley will face off against Basic. The Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Green Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Basic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Green Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Basic just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2.

For Basic's part, they got a great performance from Johnny Villarreal as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andruw Giles, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lord, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

With the victory, Basic broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Green Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
