Football Recap: Pleasant Grove Gets the Win

After losing to Maple Mountain the last time they met, Pleasant Grove decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings walked away with a 15-6 win over the Golden Eagles on Friday.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pleasant Grove's defense and their 4.5 sacks. In that department, Jaxon Mortenson was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

Pleasant Grove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Maple Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Pleasant Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-17 defeat against Springville on the 12th. As for Maple Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-28 win against Payson on the 12th.
